Default VERY Confused

Ok, if you remember the local engine shop told me i threw a rod, broke the wristpin, and blew my head gasket, well i took their word for it and just let it sit in my driveway, well i just went out to screw with it and jokingly i turned the key forward, it started right up! Granted it sounds like @#$& and i have to keep my foot on the gas to keep it running, but shouldnt if what they said happened shouldnt it not even start at all? Im pretty sure i blew a head gasket though because the plugs are all oily. Any ideas?

Yes, there is a 1995 supercharged engine (not rebuilt) i found online for $1,400 with a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty, they compression test em, and a bunch of other stuff too, and theres a completely rebuilt engine i found for the same price but it doesnt come with a supercharger and i dont know if my 1992 supercharge will fit on the 1995 engine?
