I was thinking of just putting the car up on ramps and dropping the pan and filter and installing new D6 tomorrow.

Ten below plus winds in upstate NY tomorrow. Take a second look at the all night siphon through the dip-stick. Get the DEX VI from Wally world, they are half the price of the other auto suppliers. Just make sure they have qty 8 in stock, wally world often has a limited on hand qty.

LOL, Um...I don't know where your getting your forecast from, but according to NOAA for my backyard, I'm looking at a high of 24 with a touch of snow. I've done worse in deeper/colder conditions.

Wind chills are suppose to kick things down a notch, but only at night. And I never venture outdoors at night...weird things happen. LOL.

I put the intercooler on the Bonneville in Dan'* vented shop with only a kerosene heater that ran out of fuel half way through. It was 15* when we started in the afternoon, probably 0* when we finished that night. I had the heated seat on high and the heat set to 90* for the entire 4ish hour trip home and my bones were just starting to thaw when I got back.

Trans Pan drop should be a piece of cake! Just don't break the filter neck off in the trans.

That is cold, being in Dan'* uninsulated pole barn... Those days we all ask ourselves "why the heck am I doing this". Then we get it done and we are super happy with the accomplishment.

I still think the siphon method is a course of action that should be considered. No surprises......
