Well, when I bought my SSEi, it was about 5 weeks before I noticed my AC performance had gotten ****-poor. I added a 19oz can of freon, and she was almost as good as new- for about a 10-12 days. A couple 12oz cans later and we were back in business, this time for a little over a week. Another recharge, another week of semi-cold cruising, you get the idea.

Three cans ago I shot in a can of 134 with the UV dye in it cause my buddy has one of the real nice UV lamps. Well, somewhere in there I had degreased the engine and today I was nosing around down near the compressor and OH NOES!!

So fellow Bonneville fellas, I ask where can I get a decent reman compressor? My front seal is obviously shot, and I dont feel like dicking with replacing a 9 year old seal and leaving the rest of the compressor.

Personally I would fix the hose and clean the coolant off the compressor and area around it. You weren't using a UV light when you took the pic were you?

Looks like standard green coolant to me.

Thats not coolant. Even if I had a coolant leak, which I dont, my coolant isnt green.

The yellowish-green you see is the funny color of the UV dye residue showing where the freon/oil is furiously leaking out of the front compressor seal.
