The security light come on in my 1993 bonneville an stays on while im driving it doesn't turn off. And for some reason the power in my car goes out for some reason my battery power goes out an the battery is a year old. I went to get the battery replaced with a new one and three weeks later the battery power went out again an this battery is BRAND NEW. I went to get my alternator checked and the inspector said my alternator was between 13.6 an 13.4 which she said was good. When i took the battery back to Sams club were i got it from the guy look in my car an saw that the security light was on an said that what was making my battery go down an said a door my be open, so i open an slamed all doors an the security light was still on. I don't no is it'* the battery cause I have a entergizer battery that I basically got from WalMart for $65. I need help on how to get my security light to turn off an a answer to why is my battery running low my car.

Check the trunk lid switch. I don't have one on my 98, but I've read others suggesting to check there near the lock for the switch that senses the trunk is down. They said to unplug the connector and see if that fixes the problem.

I did that an I put the key in an the security light was still on, I unpluged that switches an put the key in an the security light was still on an i plug it back in an it was still on. Do u no any more options?

My 98 SLE is doing the same thing.Dont no why either.
