Default Need help on replacing cam sensor and it'* reluctor!

Hello guys.
How do you get to a cam sensor and magnet reluctor without taking everything out? Is there a chance to do so at all? If anyone have replaced both, specially magnet part- please advice. anything will be appreciated, as I just don't have a luxury at this time to take half of the engine appart, but I need the magnet to be replaced asap. Thank you

I had to replace mine once but I did it with the timing cover removed. I would have to double check but I seem to remember the magnet clips in from behind the cam gear.

In 92 there was a thing about the magnets coming loose and then finding their way out of the area. I remember some guys finding a writeup that said something about grinding the back or hat area of it off. Then jb welding it in through the cam hole.

Honestly..once you support the motor and take off the mount on that side. it should be pretty easy to pull the timing cover and get right at it.

Thank you Dan, Bill and others. I dot hav a luxury of doing all this right now, so here'* what I'm thinking to do: I am thinking to take out sensor and pull magnet debris off of cam( since there isn't much left off of it) and the. Just glue w/jb or whatever I have that will hold it in another peace of magnet. However it'* not thr orig reluctor part but rather regular disk shape magnet that fits perfectly ino cam sproket. What you think??? Lol
