Cool 1993 stalling problems

I have a 1993 Bonneville SE. I am having a problem with the car stalling when I apply the brakes. That is the only time it stalls. This baby has been a great car!! I'll give you some history of what happened before this that may help determine the cause.

We've had a lot of rain and my 18-year-old son and stepson have driven the car thru some fairly deep puddles. However, the car gave no indication of stalling thru those. The front brakes and rotors were just replaced (same day as the rain, matter of fact). A day or 2 later, I had stopped the car and turned it off. When returning a few minutes later (car still warm) to start it back up, the security light stayed on and the engine would not even crank. Last time I had this problem it was something about the security thing not recognizing my key. I put it in neutral, and it started up. Since then, whenever applying the brake, I hear a constant soft hissing sound near the brake pedal and the engine starts to stutter. The brake pedal also becomes hard almost impossible to push but I manage enough strength to make it stop the car. At about the same time, the steering becomes difficult. I know these are probably a result of the car switching to manual on both brakes and steering because the engine is stalling. Keep this up, I'm going to have some awesome muscles in my arms and legs!!

Any idea what the problem is and how to fix it? Battery cables have been recently checked because my son wanted to install a wicked sound system but decided to not install it because it would take up too much room in my trunk. I have cleaned the keys like I did the last time, which worked then but does not seem to be working now.

The hissing sound would most likely be vacuum related.

Please check the rubber hose that attaches to the brake booster on the firewall. I think you'll find the noise is coming from that area. The hose is connected to a 90 degree piece that contains a check valve. It is possible the booster, valve or seal are bad.

Thx! Will have my son check that today. He and his friends are more car savvy than me and can probably find what you're describing much easier than I could. Will post again with what happens once they check that out.
