Right rear brake growling noise at stop?
Hello all. When I press the brake pedal on my 97 SSEi and come to the point of a complete stop the right rear wheel/brake/drum makes a loud growning/growling noise each and every stop. Now just yesterday I can hear that when I creep away from a stop very slowly, there is a growning noise though much softer, even after the pedal has been released. Any Ideas or suggestions? Funny thing my wife'* minivan has started doing the same thing now from a rear drum as well.
Thanks,
-Jason

I have a simular problem on my 2000 bonneville when I stop but not everytime I stop. right rear wheel and it has a growling sound. I replaced the caliper, rotor, and brake pads. now I'm thinking of doing the axle bearing. not sure what else it could possibly be. any suggestions?

Please start a new thread if your having problems. This thread is 4 years old. Also, the rear brakes on a 97 are drum brakes and you have disk, very different set up.

no sticking or anything out of the ordinary, just a growling sound that drives me nuts. let off the brake and the noise stops. totally has me stumped since everything for the brakes was replace. thank you for responding even if this link is old.
