Default 1996 bonnevile has fuel leaking at fuel filter from quick disconnect

got a driping fuel leak at the fuel filter at the quick disconnect. I changed the filter but it still leaks so I assume it'* the seal ring inside of the connector. Autozone has a splice in repair kit that has the quick disconnect on one end and a hose barb on the other. THey just need the fuel line size.
My questions are: has anyone used this splice repair kit with success and what size if the fuel line?
Also, if I go to the dealer and just get a whole new fuel line from filter to tank what'* that gonna cost me? Does anyone have that part number ?

thanks

theres an o-ring that goes inside the connector. You can try replacing that first to see if it fixes your problem and save you time and hassle.

I had a similar problem recently when I replaced the fuel sending unit assembly. Mine wasn't leaking when I took the fuel line off the filter but, when I went to put it back together I had problems with the o ring as well. I made two trips to parts stores and spent several hours trying to make it work with no luck. Finally out of desperation I went to the dealer and bought the plastic fuel line assembly that has quick disconnects on both ends and goes from the fuel tank to the fuel filter. It set me back almost seventy bucks but it only took 60 seconds to install and it does not leak. Sometimes it is best to get the right part and not try to take short cuts. I would go to the dealer on this one if I were you. Good Luck!

I have heard good and bad about the splice kits. My personal experience was dripping with the kit. I'd probably try swapping the rings and ensuring all the interior parts are there before swapping the hose. If I needed to swap the hose, I'd drop the tank and do the hose. But then my sender is new and won't be a problem to remove the old and put a new one on. That might be another thing to consider if you try and replace the line.
