1995 SE--burning oil, low oil pressure gauge.
So, okay.
Here's the problem. I live in MA on the side of a mountain. Snow, ice, and steep hills are not good for my '95 Bonneville (with 180,000miles). Needless to say, I was struggling a bit to climb the mountain last night, but made it with a little rocking. This evening, I started my car to chip off some ice. I smell burning oil, my antifreeze overflow valve is low, and a hear a front end knock. It will occasionally stall. Everytime I rev (about 2000-3000rpm) the oil pressure gauge drops. Can anyone help me diagnose this problem and remedy it? Thank you, fellow club members! -Kevin |
your UIM or the LIM gaskets probably jsut failed and you probably just destroyed the motor when you said there was a knock.
Either way, i recommend changing oil ASAP to protect the motor from further damage. i'll get you a techinfo link (TECHINFO at top ^^^) on the UIM failure. EDIT: here it is http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...e=article&k=38 |
get the oil out right NOW
