Default '95 L27 " What the heck is this wire" question

ok, i just installed a 180 T-stat on my car. to do this i removed the airbox and the EGR valve (electronic egr valve) to give myself room to work. when i disconnected the wiring i noticed a single red wire with a female blade type connector coming out of the wire loom that the other plugs for the EGR, TB and IAT sensors came out of. i'm assuming this was connected before and i knocked it loose, but for the life of me i can't find where it goes and the haynes manual doesn't say anything about it.

now the which ran fine before hand has a really rough idle and wants to die, i haven't even tried to drive it yet. any ideas?

i may be overthinking this a little bit here... i've probably got a massive vaccume leak from where i took the pipe headed to the manifold off. i just replaced the egr gasket and it got a little better but it'* still pretty bad, it'll lope almost to the point of stalling and the lights will dim, then it'll rev back up to about 1000 nad repeat. when driving it starts off sluggish and hesitent until i give it some gas, then it goes like stink. no problems until i slow down again, then right back to the loping.

if it'* the pipe do i have to replace the whole pipe thing or can i just replace like the seals on it?

Look over this thread from Bonnie94SSEi, and look at the picture toward the bottom of the page, and see if you may have a similar problem.

yeah, the vans never got the L36, after '95 when the L27'* were gone they went to the 3400. more power, less potental.

i'm going to go doublecheck that pipe, cause that looks very likely to be my problem.
