A/C not working right (Small Update)
hey,
A/C is not working.
Symptoms:
1. Hot air when in A/C mode (max or regular)
What works:
1. Fan (all speeds work)
2. Compressor
3. Lines are cold
Is it the air mix acutator crapped out on me?

i don't know but, i'm having similar problems. i drained the ac pressure, recharged, and still no cold air. the pressure was really high though in the red before i released the pressure.

Do you have Electronic Climate Control (ECC)? If so, does the display flash?
I would pull the glove box out (just a handful of screws - real easy), grab a flashlight, and watch the airmix actuator in operation. Run the temp back & forth from hot to cold. The white door arm should move smoothly - no jitters, hesitation, etc. - and should move to the same positions each time at max and min. Any discrepancy there would indicate a suspect actuator. Pictures 17 & 18 in this http://trialsnuts.com/ecc.pdf may help you determine where to look to watch the action. The article is long (I know the hosehead that wrote it

Fuel I really wish you could hear this... But you'll notice the arm sticking...
For the rest of you that have an issue like such and have a Bonneville with the manual Climate Control... Have a look at the vid... I was getting cooked out of the car on a rainy day..

Cool vidja. Any hesitation in the motion is indicative of a crack in the final drive gear, which allows the gear to slip on the driven shaft. Another test you can make is to attempt to move the airmix door with the actuator still attached. Do this with the car off. Merely stick a screwdriver (or whatever else you have that'* long & skinny) through the "view hole" and carefully try to move the arm. Don't force it. If you can move the door easily, the actuator is toast and is most assuredly ONE of your prollems...(there could be more).

Okay, the glovebox is out and I looked the link Motorhead provided.
To be honest, I don't see it in the hole. There'* two holes, I looked in the left one and saw nothing but I looked in the right one and saw a silver rod at about 45* going upwards, was that it? Was it supposed to move?
