Special tool when replacing the crank sensor???
I see in the Chilton'* book it looks like I will need a crankshaft sensor tool to replace the sensor. Do I have to use this tool just to change the sensor? I asked the AutoZone for one and the guy looked at me crossed eyed and said he don't have one. If I do need it I guess I'll have to hit up car quest. Is this tool expensive if I have to have it?

Nevermind I read the book wrong. I would only need that tool if I if it was an older model. All I need is maybe a puller for the crankshaft balancer. I love this book it tells you everything right down to what tool and and the size of sockets you need.

I've done this job a couple of times. You WILL need to measure the diistance from
the airgap in the original sensor to a known good point. ( crank center or edge ). You only have like 1\16 of an inch to play with. get it wrong and the sensor is toast.
Also, the puller for the crankshaft, be sure NOT to screw the bolts in too far. One of the bolts goes into the reflective material on the back of the balancer.
Do it from the bottom wheel well. Be sure and replace the cover and
you may want to repalce the seal at this time also.
