Well, it doesn't appear that there is any way for me to remove the pump without taking off the engine mount. The mount bracket goes over top of the water pump. There is a couple bolts to the pump behind the engine mount bracket. Problem is, I can't get the mount off. I have the bracket bolts all out and it is loose, but there isn't enough room to remove it. This looked like it wasn't going to be that hard but has become entirely frustrating.

I assume you do have the engine supported? Try lifting the engine a little.

Yes, i have the engine supported. I have tried lifting the engine and also tried lifting the car to move it into different positions and have had no luck at all. There just isn't enough room to remove the mount bracket. The top bolt on the mount bracket that goes into the engine block is actually a stud that had a nut on it. If that would have been a bolt instead of a stud that is still there, i would have it off by now but that stud is making it so i can't slide the bracket out and off of it before the bracket hits the body support by the fender.

Does it look like the stud has a torx head? If so it'* a stud you can remove. I believe you can use a 5/16 socket. But use some penitrating oil on it, you don't want to strip the end.

Unfortunately, it'* just a regular stud. If I clamp some vise grips on it and remove it(not sure if that will be possible because of space limits) how hard would it be to find another stud to replace it? Is it going to be some weird metric $50 each type of thing?

Another complaint i have is it seems the nuts and bolts don't have proper sizes on them. If i use the closest metric it seems a little sloppy yet the closest SAE is sloppy as well. Never had that problem before and they aren't stripped either but with too much force i could see them easily getting stripped.

im just saying what i did... im not telling you to do the same... do it wrong and you could injure yourself or mess up something on the car more...
