4t60-e Tranny codes??
Hello all,
I have a problem with the 92 SSEi I bought that the tranny shifts very good from 1-2. 2-D slips like a gossips lips at a church function, then from D-OD it will lock in, but seems to be tentative as it wants to downshift right away into D if under any load or climbing a hill at speed. If I mash the gas when it is slipping in D it will rev, then the tranny will shutter, lock into drive and stay locked in drive until you slow down to say 30 MPH and get back in the gas. Reverse is very solid also.
I took the car to a tranny shop here in the springs and they ran a scan-tool on it for me. The codes they got were... 1) 16-Bat low Volt 2) 26- QDM Failure 3) 39-TCC Malfunction 4) 58-Anti-theft system problem 5) 66-A/C Freon low 6) 67-Faulty Cruise Control Switch. He then cleared the codes and took her for a drive. When he returned or during his trip it threw a code 56-QDM Z problem. This is how they broke down the codes for me.
Can anyone tell me that my symptoms correlate to the codes thrown?? Any info would be greatly appreciated yet again.
Thank you all in advance...Kenny

The QDM is a PCM failure regarding fuel delivery. The QDM controls injectors and such, I think. Jr knows more about this.
Your tranny sounds like a tranny problem. I'd bet you have a shift solonoid going out. If you do a realtime scan while you're driving, you can see it happening. I'd be curious to pull codes again and see what you have now. There'* a procedure up in Techinfo that will work for your car.

The TCC code is for the Torque Convertor &/or Solinoid.
As for your shifts, this can either be a shift solinoid (there are many of them too) or worn synchros themselves.
I'm assuming that there is lotz of miles on this unit & that the fluid level IS FULL!
As for helping you diagnose your problem read some of these!

A trans flush probably would help, but i think this problem isn't going to be that easily solved though. While at that Trans shop getting them to see if any easy fix can be done on it, pick their brains too on this problem!
