Default Tranny hits hard from first gear to second.

When I floor it and i am in a stop sign, my tranny hits hard from first to second and i have already had one tranny swapp. When I put my tranny for the first time , my gauge cluster said that my traction control was off. Its been a month and that hard hit from fist to second gear still hits. Anyone who nows a sollution, i would be glad to read.

On the front of the trans behind the driver'* side headlight and below the throttle body is the vacuum modulator. It controls shift firmness. Check the vacuum line to it and make sure it'* hooked up, not cracked or leaking.

This is assuming your car is 92-96 anyway.

Can you put your year and trim level in your signature?

Follow that line that Willwren mentioned alllllll the way up to the top of the */C too looking for breaks, if I remember right though, I've had that line break before, and my shifts between 1st all the way to O/D were fine flooring it or easy on it.....It was shifting between reverse and drive, and vice versa.

i've got a hard shift, but its from 2nd into 3rd, and it will jump when im at low acceleration and low rpms, hard shift is anywhere from 48-54 mph in overdrive

its like the transmission jumps while shifting

is there anything i need to look for, or am i getting a dying tranny

Regarding the 1-2 harsh shift, Andrew will need to chime in here, but I could have sworn when he still had his 95 SSEi he had this same problem and it ended up being a torn gasket between the valve bodies... but I'll have to try to find that thread or hope that he'll chime in here.

EDIT: This is the thread I was thinking of. Doesn't sound like quite the same problem though.

You might be in danger of having too much fun.
I don't think so. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but normally the harder the shift, usually the better it is for the transmission as it does not take as long for the clutches to grab.

This is no different that a shift kit, or the way a shift kit works? I have one in my Burb and you know when it changes gears.
