HO2S.

I had some crosseyed ass wipe at Autozone tell me all O2 sensors have 2 wires, a receiving and a sending. So I am like okay... I'm going to order it off the net.

Allmachtige 06-05-2003 04:45 PM

Mine is 4 wires... :?

Kuhl 06-05-2003 05:03 PM

Ah its in the Techinfo, completely forgot. Thanks anyhow.

How do I disconnect the wires and reconnect em?

Kuhl 06-05-2003 05:32 PM

Doh, they just plug in.

Also mine doesnt have two wires it has 3. Is this still the Heated one?

Kuhl 06-06-2003 12:21 AM

I ordered one from O'Reillys today. 53$ isnt to bad considering I dont have to wait for weeks. I had him check in his system to see if the ac delco part # brought up any results. His inventory screen didnt even give the option of having one, but with the part number he found one half a state away so I'll will have it in 2 days.

I sure hoping this makes my car get better gas mileage, right now its really shitty mpg and I am betting that with all the 127k on it it still has the original.

mikeinaustin 06-06-2003 03:55 AM

i was getting some really bad gas mileage with my 96...turned out the EGR needed to be cleaned and another emmisions thing (name escapes me at the moment) purged. Gas mileage immediatly back to normal!

Kuhl 06-06-2003 01:21 PM

Have any instructions how to clean em? I think you mean the charcoal purge canister

Something is wrong with the chart, because in 93, the S/C engine did not use a heated sensor, while the N/A engine did. The part numbers should be different.

Well my GM Parts Book only shows this info for all 92/93's! :? Is it possible you got a 94 style? :?

DeathRat 06-06-2003 03:02 PM

Is the US Model different from the Cdn Model I wonder then???? :?

willwren 06-06-2003 03:09 PM

Mine is a single wire....unheated. JSeabert's is a heated. He's a 93 NA. Go figure. This is one of the things that caused so much confusion early on. My magic book actually gave me the right number for mine (25162693) but that's the only one listed for 92/93, and Josh's is different. Jr, take a look at the book I sent you and you'll see what I mean. It also shows one part number for 94/95, another for 96/97, and another for 98/99. I don't trust any of this any more......but it's the only apparent bum info in my book.

Jim W 06-06-2003 03:17 PM

I wanna book

sorry, just ignore the whiny baby...back to 02 sensors now

You guys that didnt buy a o2 socket must be a sight more nimble than I.

I had to go buy a socket but I'm just going to return it when I am done with it.

I just changed mine today with a 8" Adjustable wrench. It was fine and easy to change - I was surprised actually.

The T-stat was more messy but did it. It is running cooler which is nice :)
