Default Broke a vac line or?

I was messing around trying to get my */c belt off and I bumped (and broke) a little hard plastic line that comes out of the engine under the */c and goes under the alternator and around the back of the engine. I'm not exactly sure where it ends up or what its for. What should I do to fix it? Think some type of adheasive (RTV?) or shrink tube around the outside would be enough or do I need to try and replace the whole line?

I don't think shrink tube would do the job...I'd just replace the whole line if you can and then not have to fuss with any problems related to a quick fix later down the road. I thiknk that line you're talking about is something for emissions?

Here'* an idea. Get about one inch of vacuum tubing with an ID a little smaller than the OD of the plastic line, and make a little splice.

Allmachtige did this not too long ago, and replaced/repaired it. Do a search on it.

NM, I'll do the hard part for you:

The line looked like a pain to replace because of where it ran - I still don't know where it ends up. I found that fish tank air hose was a perfect fit over the line and with a little RTV evety thing is good now.

- THANKS!
