what is code 1630?
I know that it says battery voltage out of range, but i had my battery and alternator tested and all is well with that. It is also doing the stuck in limp mode thing that i just got it out of the shop for doing. I am going to have to put it back in on Monday but i hope that yall can give me some help before i have to take it there on Monday morning and be without a car for who knows how long?!!!!

i bought new battery cables today and was going to put them on if that will help!! can someone please give me some input because i am totally freakin here because i need my car and am mad that i only got to drive it for a day. i started it up a little while ago and it ran fine but it is still throwing that code. I got a hold of the mechanic and he said to bring the car back into the shop but i want to find out if the battery cables would be a probable factor.

I don't have a listing of the 94/95 codes handy (slightly different than 96 and up), nor do I have my scantool to look it up (DrJay has it in WA). Someone else is going to have to pipe in here on the code specific stuff.
All I can tell you is to clean really well, both ends of each cable and the surfaces thay mount to, check the battery voltage with the car off, and check the alternator output at idle, and at idle with all the lights and accessories on.
Assuming you can get it going.

I hate limp in mode....my truck used to get religously stuck in that and it would take me forever to get it out of that mode....Then I realized my ignition switch was fried....solved that problem.

see, yesterday when i had that problem my key pulls out of the ignition with the key in the on position and then it would actually turn over. Now, it is not turning over with the key out(like it is supposed to do), My car did all sorts of crap yesterday and i changed the cables this morning and it seems to be alright for now, although i know it is just temporary!

i think that i figured the problem with the P1670 is that a year ago i decided to take my ses light out because it was always on and it drove me nuts. when i broke it out, i didnt intertwine the filaments so therefore there is an open circuit there that i will need to take my dash out and replace that bulb. Don, thanks for the help and i think that that might solve more than one of my problems because i didnt know that that was controlled by the QDM 4!
