Default A/C High Pressure Cutout Switch

My A/C high pressure cutout switch broke in half when I tried to unplug the wire. Is this something I can replace myself or does the system need to be evacuated? Thanks.

There is a refrigerant switch that is mounted in the line and will more than likely have a schraeder valve in the line so that when the switch is removed, you will not lose all of the refrigerant.

But to be safe you should have it evacuated first.
