1994 Park Ave. won't rev at highway speeds
I searched for this issue and pulled up nothing; you've all helped me in the past with this car so I'm hoping you can again. Its a 94 Buick Park Ave. with the 3800 series and when it gets up to highway speeds 50+ the engine won't rev up. It acts like it not running on all cylinders. At lower speeds it seems fine and accelerates normally, only over 50 or so does it act under powered.
Depending on how much throttle I give it at higher speeds it acts like I'm running in rumble strips. If I let up or push the throttle more it stops the rumble strip thing, but no power at all. I just had the winter tires put on it two days ago, I assume they would be unrelated, but just for trouble shooting figured I should mention it. Any help would be greatly apprecieated.
Thank you, Bryan Rexford

Almost seems like the 4th gear clutches or Torque converter could be having issues..
But you may want to check to be sure you don't have a Misfire before you start throwing parts at it....
If there is anything else strange you can think of please do let us know

I hope its nothing that serious; I'm going to put my scan tool on it tomorrow and see about a misfire or codes. The eng. light hasn't come on. I just spoke to my father and he thought it sounded like a plugged catalytic converter. Thoughts on that?
Thanks as always, Bryan

Thanks for the quick response; looking at that trouble shooting guide it appears that it is a circuit fault or a faulty IPC? I found on-line that it could be shift or TCC solenoids. Looking at "jRs3800" response at the start of this thread it is most likely the TCC Solenoid? What'* this mean? Tranny going bad? Anyone have this issue before?
Thanks, I'll play with when it warms up here in New England.

Well, I spoke with a local shop who thought it was the computer; changed it and its not the computer, it still shifts acts underpowered like its starving for fuel or not down shifting. I'm told it has to be a tranny solenoid now; whats it cost to replace all 4 of the solenoids on the #2 quad driver in the tranny?
Also the code I listed was copied wrong, it is P1650 not P0650.
Also anyone looking for a used PCM for a 94 park ave? I'd like to recover some of that expense if someone was interested.
Thanks guys, Bryan
