100% water in cooling system

You might consider removing the knock sensors and draining the block as well, in know crap will build up in the lower part of the water jackets.

Oh, good luck getting that crap out. Probably take a couple gallons of carb cleaner ran through the radiator and heater core.

Ok, I think I solved all my problems. Kept on flushing until I got nothing but water coming out. Ran the engine a few times and put in some coolant.
Now she runs fine and the fans don't run all the time.

Glad to hear it'* better now!
After a complete water flush when u do add coolant always use the full strength stuff not the 50-50 mix.
I found to get it to -45F I had to drain rad again and add pure coolant to get it right.
I like this handy tool...to know where it stands...where is your now at?

Yes, I only use the100% stuff. I don't understand how people are willing to pay almost as much as full price for water...
I put in 1.5 gallons. I don't know what its rated to but here in texas if it ever gets to -45 it will be the end of the world.

I suppose being in Texas it never really gets too cold, so you'd never have to worry about the possibility of 100% coolant gelling up in the coolant passages, not that I have heard of that happening a lot..
It does get really hot there, and considering waters thermal conductivity is much higher than glycol, I am not sure I personally would run 100% coolant.
Basically we only add antifreeze because it increases the boil over temperature, and reduces the freezing point.
Wouldn't using 100% coolant effect the pressure in the system from time to time?
You may not have any issues at all, but if it were me in your case I'd go with a 60/40, or at most a 70/30 mix of antifreeze/distilled water.
NOTE: I am not saying you will have issues using 100% coolant, you will definitely have a lot less chance of corrosion, just wanted to bring up some points that I read about when I flushed my coolant system the last time, I went with 60/40 because it gets really cold here in the winter, and I like my heat to get warm faster, as I hate freezing..
