Okay, I'm ready to prepare my spring list of todo's. First, got a scantool and ran codes and came up with P0106, something to do with the map sensor. Pulled the thing off and made sure my o-rings were there and noticed what looked like a piece broken out of the side wall of the place where the pvc/map sensor sits, which had been replaced last year. Does that sound right? It didn't look right. Anyway the check engine light stays on. Car runs just fine, but volts seem to drop occasionally when I use the power windows. I'm thinking I have a bad ground connection because the driver side speaker goes out occasionally. Hopefully not the new 140amp alt I bought from advance, right. I do hear what sounds like a bad pulley, but would that cause electrical problems. Any advice/insight will be helpful as I am hoping to solve these issues so I can do some comestic things this summer.

You need the guys to hop in here on the sensor. I haven't messed with mine yet. The pulley sounds could be your belt tensioners. Sometimes they make a little sound when working...but they also go bad over time. You need to ask yourself, 9 years... how many miles...how fast do they spin. Yes it's worth about $15 a tensioner. I'm replacing mine very soon.

Is this broken piece in the plastic intake?
Does it effect the sealing surface of the o-ring?
If so you could JB weld it if your careful to get the original shape and sand it smooth.
This will bring back the sealing surface.

Thanks guys, so from your comments, I can assume that the hole should not be there and is probably causing the barometric codes I am getting. So would the tensioner pulley cause my electrical problem or is it most likely from a bad ground?

Tensioner has nothing to do with your electrical. Merely some belt/pulley noise when running.

Okay, so the tensioner seems like an easy fix, I may even try to tackle changing the belt, but I just want to be sure about this hole in the wall of the pvc/map sensor wall of the upper intake. Should it be there and would filling it in (hopefully) make sense over replacing the intake (not again).

A piece broken out of the side wall and a machined hole are two different things.
If it looks like a machined clean round hole then maybe its suppose to be there.
Can't remember if mine had one but I could look at my spare intake.

No, its not a machined hole so it probably doesn't belong. I'm wondering if its a defect, i just replaced last summer. Do you think the Jb weld will do the trick? hopefully i will have pics soon if it stops raining.

I am getting the same code, that's the high voltage one right? I checked my PCV valve also and got the kit from GM which upgraded the cover that the sensor hooks onto...convenient but the kit didn't fix it. So if you find out what is causing it let me know. Did you recently replace your PCV valve when this started? Mine came on after maybe 10 miles of driving after my PCV valve was replaced.

If I find out anything I will definitely share. Mine also started after a new pcv, but i also have this hole. I will try link to pictures, they're not that great if you can get to it but can see what I'm talking about. I'm still not sure if I can use jbweld to fix it. Hopefully it will be that simple , but usually never is.
