Default $100 vs $640

Ahhhh nothing like saving cash.Every one around here wanted about 600 bucks to do a tune up.I bought everything...plugs,wires fuel filter for about 100 bucks.I forgot to get the PCV valve but I am going to Oreileys after this to change it.Is it a dog to change or fairly easy? I have a 99 SLE.

I had been having problems when I excelerated it would Hesitate especially when I would try and get on the freeway.Well after about two hours I changed the plug/wires and fuel filter and took it for a spin.At first when I fired her up it was a hard start.( guess it was suprised by the new plugs ) Then I took it out on the road.I was at a stop sign and punched it and I'll be dang if it didnt "chirp" the tires...something it had not done in awhile. Seems to be puring like a kitten...but then again I like to refer to my car as "christine" as she will have these phantom issues and then they just disappear.

the first time changing plugs and wires sucks.

but the second time I can do it in under 30 minutes, (if I have the right tools)

Fuel Filter - Drain Fuel from fuel rail, pop it out, pop new one on, clean up mess. - 20 minutes

PCV - Unbolt 2 bolts (on my ssei) pull valve out put new valve in, replace gasket and bolts -10 minutes.

Don't forget about the O2 sensor at the rear of the motor.

Should only have to replace that one since the one behind the cat just keeps an eye on the condition. You should be able to get at it with a cresent wrench or pick up the O2 socket for around 12 bucks

I am assuming that is the tool to remove the o2 sensor...I am talking about the o2 sensor itself.

Just remember, when replacing a new O2 sensor, do not touch the tip of the new one.
