Today, took Pearl out. Had to get gas, I was so low, the car stalled three times driving one block.. guess I kinda pushed the E, huh? Anyways, my mom insisted that she pull into the gas station.. because of course i'm 14, and we will both get arrested for me driving w/o a license [little does she know.. I drive alone all the time ]. So, she was pulling into the gas station, and she revved it up to 2500, and it didn't move.. not one bit. I told her, drop it into R, then into 1, she did that, and it revved to 2000 rpm, and moved a little. She gave more gas to compensate, and was acceptable from there. Filled up, then pulled out, and it only took 1500rpm to move a little, then about two blocks later, we switched, I checked out the condition, and it took 1200rpm to move a little. I thought.. maybe it'* slipping later on in the rpm.. so I floored it, and heard some squeeling noise.. and I knew right there, it wasn't slipping. Then about 10 miles later, I tried the same thing, with the same results. Didn't slip one bit after that, so, does the tranny slip more when cold? I am 1/4 of the way, away from filling the entire cross-hatched, and I have one can of transtune. Just in case if that is a variable in anyway.

how many miles do you have? It sounds like your transmission is shot man.

150k, tranny replaced at 20k, so the tranny is only 130k, and the engine is 150k.

What I don't understand is, it was fine a couple days ago, and it was just today that it was slipping. And, if it were shot, wouldn't it be slipping all the time?

HOLY CRAP!! I am sooo stupid! I have a broken vacuum distro block.. well just one of the nipples. Well, anyways, I thought the broken one went to the Charcoal canister. WRONG! Paid more attention, and it goes right to the vacuum modulator. Quoted from the FSM "Transmission slipping: Vacuum modulator, malfunctioning" Damn POS. I am going to get a new vacuum distro block asap. But now, I have this old modulator, which it'* condition is questionable. I don't have the fancy GM tool to test it.. how can I test it? it makes an air noise when I push it in, but if i put my thumb over it [when pushed in], and let go of the thing that goes between the tranny and modulator, it doesn't hold it in. I also want an adustable one, but those obviously aren't going to work, they are completly different. So, should I first just try replacing the distro block? Or should I also replace the modulator? Where can I get one? any parts store?

Ahh man I had an old T-Bird that did the same thing. I drove it around for a while like that, cause I didn't care (cheap car), but after a bout a week it couldn't make it up a slight incline at redline. I never did have it checked out or fixed and this was before I knew very much about cars sooo....I dunno, hope its not the same thing.
