Default PONTIAC POWER

I got my 89 sse in august for $750 and havent seen one since for sale and I look everyday.Put 2,400 miles on it and havent put a dime into it yet. It'* gonna need an oil change ,alignment and maybe some new tires real soon,Wanna keep this for awhile if possible its just such a smooth ride.My goal is to keep it to August 2006 my registration date.It had 130,800 on it when I got it and now has 133,200.Im shootin for 150,000 by then with minimal work done to it we will see through time how it does.If it makes my goal then I will reevaluate.Keep on hummin.

My 89 SSE has 210,000km and is still going strong. The great thing is I got mine for free. My grandfather had parked it four years ago because he had a stroke in one of his eyes and could not drive any more. People attempted to steal it 3 times over that course. First time the transmission died as the thief was backing out of the alley way. Insurance covered that, so a new tranny was put in it. The second time, the thief smashed a rear vent window in attempts to get in, and later found out the driver side door were seized and would not open. So, he left. Insurance paid for the window. The third time the rear vent window was smashed and the alarm actually went off, so the thief left.

So there it sat, for four years with no care, and this time the window was not even replaced. All through winter snow was piled on it, and it was never cleaned. So my grandfather was moving out and the bonne was going to be taken to a wrecker. I then asked him if he would sell it to me, and I got it for free.

I went back to see if I could get her to run. I boosted the Bonne, and she started up and ran fine after 4 years. The battery was complete garbage, so I replaced that and drove it home. I cleaned her out, and scrubbed out the dried mold on the roof that had accumulated, shampooed the carpets and so on. I had all the probelms addressed for $450 canadian dollars. Un jammed two doors, replaced broken wires (almost nothing electrical worked), oil change, plugs, other fluids, and I replaced that vent window. And thats where I am today, with few problems.

And thats my story.

Default My Bonnie

My 87 has 145,000miles and is still running strong. Only problem has been the crank sensor going out several times. It went out the first time with only 3500miles on it under warranty. Timing gear has been changed because I didn't trust the plastic gear, wanted the steel gears instead. The transaxle went out in the Smokey Mountains in 95 and was rebuilt with all the newer TSB'*. My sister hit a tree head on and the whole front cap has been replaced. Didn't damage the frame at all. Still drives straight and true. Try that with a newer car. Thieves have tried to steal her twice. Once breaking the steering column into pieces and almost getting away with her. The other time they just broke the window and didn't get any further. Funny thing is this car didn't start attracting thieves until a few years ago. It now has an alarm system. I felt funny coming in with a 17 year old family car wanting an alarm system, but have to have it.
The car was bought new by my dad in 87 and was given to my sister in 99. She wanted a new flashy car- 02 Toyota Camry. I went 1000 miles to my parent'* house and rescued OldBonnie from the backyard where she had been sitting for over a year. Jumpstarted her and drover her 1000 miles nonstop back to my house. It was a very comfortable ride. Rides a lot better than my 96 Corsica and feels like it has more power than the Corsica'* 3100V6. Hope I get another 100,000 out of her before she dies.

Default Bonne

In my opinion there is just no comparing a Bonne to the newer cars.
They cheapened them so much with plastics an aluminums that they are
just throw away cars.
Local monster truck show is having trouble finding crush cars because the newer
ones dont work. they squash flat with no support and end up rolling around the truck wheels....
