Is a walker O2 sensor OK?
Well i was looking for a better deal that what GMPartsDirect offered and i found a site that has a walker O2 sensor that replaces the original GM AFS-20. It'* $19.99 + 5 shipping. Still 10 dollars cheaper than GM. Is the walker brand OK? I already know to stay away from Bosch but i never hear about anything about the walkers.

Not familiar with the Walker but have heard that all single wire O2 sensors are essentially the same. If it has the short body like the AFS-20 then is probably OK. The long body like the Bosch can get in the way of the #6 plug. No difference in operation just uses more space.
For parts like that I go to the local AC Delco jobber - think the last AFS-20 I bought was U$24.

The price difference is because you have a HO2S. Not an O2 like the eariler years.
I personally wouldn't use anything but an AC Delco O2 sensor. I'm one of many that have had problems with other brands.

There was a person on ebay selling AC Delco AFS-20s for $20.00 a pop. I bought it, received the item fast...not a single complaint.

I agree with Bill, just spend the extra few bucks on an AC-Delco Unit. An O2 Sensor is one of those things that you replace every once in a while.. so the extra money you spend now, saves you in the long run, IMO. Remember, a good O2 Sensor can increase your fuel economy dramitically.

Used the Bosch here and it failed....
I paid too much at the stealership....( 91 ) Never did better than 22 or 23 mpg max with the Bosch...Inner city was 13 or 14..... Installed AC Delco, and on a speedy highway run I pulled a 31.... Wondering what I would have done at 75mph...lol
I think it was $38 plus 7 shipping from GMPD(1995)( I think I ordered more than that )..... A good year or 2 later and I'm still on the replacement sensor.... My milage went down slowly in 99 after the intake ruptured and kept getting worse.... The best I could manage in 2001 I think was 28-29.... And it went down hill from there too... 26-27, and the inner city milage started to suck as well....
The replacement brought it back to spec.... 30-33

Repin: What I meant was if you had a failing O2 Sensor, your fuel economy will decrease. The new [hopefully Delco] unit will increase it from that point.
Jr: Is that with a CAI, or all-stock setup?
On a side note, you guys keep WAY too many records of your fuel economy. All I know is I got 19mpg when my mom drove her, and that was granny-style driving with mostly highway driving [55mph highway driving]. Talk about * hitty.

At one point a while back I was doing 23-24 mixed driving.... I won't say what my speed was when I was running the road... But I still managed a 31... But the 91 has those tall 2.84 gears... Great for fuel economy...
I have known several people that have done 29-31 with the 90-91 bonnies with the 2.84 and 2.97 ratios.. I used to keep track of the 91 untill the trip broke.... I'm too lazy to do the math after the intake and Ignition upgrade... Next time I'll have to write it all down and calculate it... lol
Last check of the 95 was 22mpg mostly inner city...
