What's the bulb #?

Ok I have a question about my car. I have the Automatic Climate Control HVAC system and was wondering what are the replacement bulb #'s? Mine are burnt out on the right side.

are you talking about the backlight for night operation?

or the readouts?

mine has also burned out on that side, but havent investigated fixing it, the manual hanging on the string at the autoparts store should say i would think...

i'm talking about the backlights. The bulb that is behind the right side that is for the Inside outside temp and Celsius Faheriheit and the off button

Saw some entire control heads on Ebay using "Bonneville SSE" as the searchwords

I THINK (not entirely sure) that those bulbs would be a 194, but please double check. Kind of a push in type of bulb

egladman 01-26-2004 01:13 AM

i've had it apart and I don't think they are 194 bulbs. Unless I have those bulbs mistaken for what's in the bottom. I might have to take it back out too make sure. As for the whole AC unit on ebay i'd be crazy to buy a whole new unit for 13 bucks when all I need is a stinkin bulb.

crzydmnd72 01-26-2004 01:25 AM

probably right. I suggested Ebay just in case I misunderstood and it WAS a soldered in type lamp that isnt available..then you would have a replacement alternative.

If its a removable lamp...CAREFULLY remove it and see if there is a number either on the glass itself or stamped into the base.

Then find an electrical supply house or better auto store and try your luck there. At least thats what I would do

I had the same problem on my 89. There are three bulbs in there. Nobody sold them except GM. I had the dealer order me three of them. Special order item only...

So Does anybody know the part number?

If they are the same bulbs, they look like a regular cornering light bulb, but about a quarter of the size. They are available at Advance Auto, I believe in Sylvania brand, its part number is 37-A, and comes in a pack of 2 for less than $3. I just had to change mine last weekend.
