radio loc
91 bonne SSE unhooked the battery to work on the door and low and behold the radio is now locked. Dealer wants $42 to pull codes from it but there has got to be a another way for me to get this 3/6 digit code. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes I have a mute on the wheel, I held it in with ignition on(car NOT running) for 10 seconds and nothing happened. Problem is sometimes the buttons there don't work lol

Which unit do you have?
Is this the 5 Band Eq CD
Or
5 Band Eq Tape
Big difference here

Also there is a slightly different design internally between the 88-89 and the 90-91..
Its too much trouble to bypass the Delco Loc, It can be done on that older unit, but again it depends on what design you have..

if the radio doesnt see the Radio controls in working function the headunit will not function at all. 88 was the only year to use the "MUTE" button as a unlock signal.89-91 will see the controls automatically. the reason the radio still worked when the controls didnt was becuase it wont reset until you disconnect the battery.
