Is this the vacoum modulator
ok,i found a ripped wire,i think its connected to vacoum modulator, which would explain the weird shifting ive been having, this thing sits on top of the torque converter, and a plug goes into it,on the right side, there is one fat plug, and a skinny one,the fat one broke, and the back of it,it goes to the throttle?..is this the vacoum modulator?

His is shifting late.. Jr's3800 is right, the modulator does not control the shift points, just the firmness [or lack there of]. I forgot to ask if you had adjusted the TV cable.. so, did you?

And the modulator has no wires. Not even on my 93.

its neither of those things.....
it sits on top of where to torque converter is,there is one line that goes from it to the throtle. one skinny one,and one fat one (broken in my car) and i cant figure out what it is...? also about 5-6 inches back of the where the TV cable comes out of the tranny.. |
i have a feeling it has something do with my shifting problems..i was caosting in N and i put her back in D and she dropped into 2nd at about 50mph!!..RPMS rjumped to 3k....
so its something in the shifting mechanism..i can get her to shift right, when i reach about 25mph,i put her in N and back in D..she shifts into 2nd and again at 40mph i do the same... |
50mph in second will yeild a 6k drop.. you went into 3rd. Adjust your tv cable.. if it is loose.. then it is broken, otherwise you know the procedure, right? what you are talking about.. could be the TCC solenoid.. but I have no clue beyond that idea.
