Default Oil in coolant?!

Ok, maybe I'm insane, but umm, my coolant is the color of OIL. My overflow tank shows an oily residue on the walls if you rock the car. Could bad LIM gaskets do that? I mean, I know the LIMs can let coolant in the OIL, but not the other way around? I thought that oil in coolant was a head gasket thing, and I know 3800s DON'T blow head gaskets.

They tend not to, its rare but they very well can.

How have your temps been of late? Pop open your oil cap, is it clean in there?

yeah, oil cap is clean, oil is normal level, normal color and normal smell. Temps have been perfect.

I was just thinking to myself, maybe the built in oil cooler in the radiator is leaking oil into the cooling system?

Default coolant

Pull your radiator cap and check for trans fluid residue at the top. My SSE did that a few years back and I just bypassed the radiator to the external trans cooler. Fluids been staying cherry red do I left it alone.

Trans fluid you mean? IIRC only the SSE has the oil cooler.
