poor gas millage ? please help..
hi i think im getting poor gas millage and i dont know what to do.. ok first to let it be known i have a small 2'' long crack in my pipe about 6'' '* from the catco going toward the muffler.. i noticed i put in $40 of gas which only got me a lousy 13 and 1/2 gallons. and i hit my trip reset when i pulled out of the gas station and now om on E again and my trip reset reads 134 miles.. only 134 miles on almost 14 gallons.. is this good? besides welding my exhaust pide crack what else can i do to get better gas millage.. thanks... john.. i hate these long trips with these high gas prices as its really killing my pocket just as much as yours..

John...
First thing you need to do is fill the tank..drive most of it, then fill back up and calculate your mileage. This will give you a true picture of MPG.
As for the things you know that need to be addressed. Yes, fix them. they might be contributors.

I think what you are saying is your getting a little over 10 mpg. Something is terribly wrong. Have you done a tune up recently? If so what have you done. How many miles are on the 02 sensor. You could take it out and look at the tip. If its charcoal black, replace it.

Low tire pressure is something that a lot of people overlook, but it is such a cheap and easy fix that there is really no excuse for it. You can expect to get worse mileage when driving with the AC on, especially in town stop and go driving.
