Default Please forgive me, but...

I can't remember, been gone too long.

I have an '88 Olds Delta 88 with a 3800. On the '88'*, can you do the jumper trick to pull the codes like you can on the '93'*?

What'* happening is it idles beautifully, but as soon as I throttle it a bit, it dies if I don't pump the throttle. It has thrown a code, but I need to see what the numbers are.

Thanks.

I believe that you should be able to do that with that car....Check out Tech Info for more information on it. Should be the same as flashing codes out of a OBD1 Bonneville.

Nah, got code 41. I suspect the magnet came loose. Not to mention there'* obviously coolant leaking into number 1 cylinder. Need to replace the gasket first. May clear up the circuit reading? Worth a shot.

If I have to do anything with the cam sensor, may as well take a few more steps and replace the timing chain and check the sprocket, instead of the quickfix negating the need to remove the cover.

Anywho, I'll let ya know.

Oh boy the dreaded 41.... If the car gets really unhappy like that again, shut it off and restart it... It should run better the second time around...

Good Luck and let us know..
Heheh, that'* exactly what it does. But priority one is to stop the water from leaking into the cylinder. :P
