Default 1989 SE using a 1987 Tranny

I just killed my 1989 Bonnie SE Tranny Th440T4 i think?car is at 140,000 miles
Well, about 3 months ago..I noticed it shifted kind of late, and i heard LOUD clunging noise when i put in in D or N,or R...so i was driving it and i took 2 minutes at 4,000RPM to shift into 2nd and about the same to 3rd and i got filter change, and fluid.
I know im a teenager,i did a little rollback..knowing the tranny was on its way out.Left a nice strip..the first strip i ever left with my car.
And about 2-3 hours later..I was went to pull of out my Girlfriends house, and i hear a bang.I step on the gas...car aint movin no more..and i put in all the gears, and in drive..it makes loud high pitched clicks, like its movin in drive. Its pouring Tranny fluid out of it,and its almost BLACK btw,

I bike 6 miles to a junkyard and they tell me that they have a 1987 Bonneville Tranny for me.Is that tranny gonna fit in my car?i looked at the fliud, almost bright orange and the car has 70,000 miles on it.

A godd tranny will have PINK fluid, not orange. Orange is bad.

I don't know about 87-89 tranny interchangability.

It'* physically the same, Some of the sensors may have to be swapped.

Didn't the pinouts on the gear indicator switch change right in there somewhere?
