swap interior parts?

I was wondering if anybody has swapped out interior parts.

I have a 1990 Bonne LE and it has nothing powered except the door locks. (which don't totaly work)

I want to add power leather (heated?) seats and power windows. I'm also interested in changing the dash area. I'm looking into digital guages.

any suggestions on what cars to yank parts from and if they are even transferable?

I'd like to swap a new stearing column and put the shift lever on the floor rather than on the wheel.

audio controls on the wheel...is this transferable? does it work with aftermarket HU?

how long ago did GM throw in HUD's? can this be added?

thanks.

Damn! That's a lot of work. I would get a 1988-1991 Bonne that has a blown engine or transmission with all the bells and whistles you desire('cept for the digi dash& HUD) and install your drivetrain.

Oh, and Welcome (back) to The Club!!! :)

This will be a lot of work but yes, it's possible. I would first verify that your car is equiped with the wiring for the options i.e. power window switches and motors in all of the doors. If not, that's when I would call it quits. But if you wish to continue, you will need to harvest both the parts and wiring from the donor car.

Let's say you start with an 87-91 SSE parts car with all of the goodies.

The seats and console will be relatively easy to put in but you will need to install/fabricate the shifter mount, electrical connections to interior lighting, ECM (transaxle position switch), and power seat module, etc. You might even need the compressor and air lines for the lumbar functions

The window motors, switches and and maybe wiring will need to be transplanted into the car. Running the wires through the door jambs is a nightmare IMO so God bless if you decide to tackle this

Same idea with the steering column. Should bolt in but you have to deal with the wiring for the radio controls.

These digital gauges you mention interest me. Do you have something specific in mind?
