heater blower motor.
There seems to be quite a few posts on heat and vent issues and I have read most of em
from collapsed nipples to defective motors.,and vacuum leaks. here is my question.
My heat (blower) fails occasionally , by banging below the dash it comes back on most of the time.. i am having the blower motor replaced today or tomorrow.. and will stress cleaning heater rad to mechanic.. he is great and will probably do it anyway.
My specific question is regarding the vents. I have never been able to get heat from the front dash vents. It comes from defrost (top) and floor really well.. (when blower works. )
but i have not been able to get it to blow from the front vents ,,the ones that face you.
i can get ac from these vents no problem.. if switched back to heat it goes to defrost.
so i don't think there is a vacuum issue.??? switch to ac and cold air blows from front vents.. back to heat ,, no air what could this be.
if ac air comes through..why not heat???

That is the way that the auto climate control works... the vents are used for cooling the interior, or for blowing cooler air into the interior in regards to exterior temp.. (my exterior sensor will show a +20C temp if my car sits and idles when warm, which will make the heater blow cooler air, even though I have it set at 21C..).. I too would like to be able to make the vents work, but, it is just something that you have to deal with when you have automatic climate controls in an early SSE

Actually, if you are very lucky, and fiddle with it enough, i got mine to get front vents to come on [with heat, btw], and all you do is disconnect the vacuum line that controls the air/mix door. Or the vent door, whatever it'* called. The ECC may say it'* on floor vent, but it doesn't know there is no vacuum to move the vent placement. That'* what i got going on, and it works great. Just get a vacuum cap from napa or wherever, it'* a very common item.. and it'* a very small line on the firewall.
Then for the frosted windshield problem, what i do is leave my windows cracked just a tad, and haven't had any problems, but if that doesn't work, keep a bottle of this defroster stuff.. cheap available everywhere, keeps your windows from fogging up. Great stuff. Definitely worth the nice hot heat blowing in your face

ok.. bad news for me,. got the blower motor replaced,, worked for 2 days.
wont come back on now..
went to mechanic. he said we should look for the heater/ac /radiocontrol interface module
well after about on hour it still could not be found..
mitchels stays its at the side of the steering column.. but its not there
i have to take it back tomorrow and leave it .. the whole dash may have to come out.
anyone tell me where the control module is???
or any other suggestions.

Whoops!!! You have an SSE right. The blower control module is in the HVAC module housing. On the top and bolted into the air passage.
