Default How to work the AC

I had the AC in our 91 Bonne SSE charged tonight Seing how this is the third Bonne that the AC didn't work and now works I am going to ask a stupid question . How to work the AC. WE have a HVAC in the car with econo and auto .Please tell me how to adjust the AC. thanks Ray

Usually, you will hit Auto, and set the temperature you would like. Then it will automatically control the a/c, output temperature, and fan speed/diversion automatically. When you set it to economy, it will do the exact same thing as listed above, except it will not run the air conditioning. You can override the fan setting if you like by hitting the fan up/down, and also trigger defrost mode, rear defroster, etc.

Thanks Randall for your help I still have to put in 1 more can of refridgerant then 1 can of sealer. It sure works good . Ray

Hi, make sure you dont overcharge the AC system. This is bad and can lead to damage. If your charging with r12 look at the sticker under the hood and see the capacity in pounds. Most likely 2lbs. See the can for its capacity and dont overcharge. If your converting to r12a or something else aftermarket, make sure you understand the equivalent weight values of the two. 1 225g can of r12 is not the same weight as the same size can of r12a. Different refrigerant has different physical properties. Its usually 1 can = 1 pound but its something to look out for.
