Default Odometer

My '91 SSE has been acting quite funny lately. For about 2 weeks now, my odometer hasn't been working. I went to reset my trip odometer, but that doesnt work which i think is what is causing my odometer to not work either. What seems to be the problem and is it easy to fix or no?

Acting funny is a tough symptom to diagnose. Please elaborate as to if it'* cutting in and out power wise.. if you have water leak problems..etc

its a very common problem on the 88-91'*. the little gears in the trip/odometer seem to wear out and get stuck at the "9"

Well, as I mentioned the trip odometer is stuck at zeroes, the odometer itself is stuck at 113011 and won't move. There is a whining noise that i can hear when i step on the gas and is consistent with the shifting of gears. The transmission seems to be shifting at the right points, the RPMs aren't exceedingly high at the point of shift. The 2 front windows have always had problems with going all the way down, but not making it all the way back up (especially the passenger side). May be looking to sell this beast if the price is right and I may get another 'Ville. So many problems all at the same time

well your problems with the windows are the motor and or regulator. they go with time and were a horrible design. you might be able to grease up the track and it might help a bit.

You may have an electrical problem at the cluster connector.
You have to remove the dash bonnet and pull the luster to check / clean the connection. Also a little wd in the trip gear. (little) minute spray.
