Newbie wanting to say hello
Just wanted to say hey to everyone. Recently talked my grandparents out of there 89 Bonnie LE. Car is mint and there is nothing wrong with it. I turn 16 in two weeks and then its mine. I'm just looking to make it look a little better and make that motor kick some ***! I spend my time working on cars already and this should be no problem. No mods yet to list, just new stereo, replaced noisy blower motor, and a couple of interior purchases. [/b]

Welcome to the forum! There'* a bunch of guys here that got their first Bonneville at 16. A couple still around that age. Great to have you here, and a big welcome to the forum.
We like watching cars get faster. When we run out of money on our own, watching someone else is the only satisfaction we get!
You've got some great support here in the pre 1991 forums, but most of what goes on in the others works for you too. There'* really not a whole lot of difference between the years. We're all pretty closely related.
Look around and surf the memberlist. You might find some local help!

You should take a look at autotrader.com. thats where i bought both of mine..You can never own enough bonnies, especially 88-91 SSE'* i just have one recomendation, if you get one, dont get leather, unless it is in excellent shape! they fall apart right after you sit in them....
I truely love my 2 90'*
They both need some work, but they are great.

Hmmm, this discussion about leather seats is intesting. I was having a conversation with Drifter about changing the seats in cars, in particular, changin my grey cloth seats to leather. Basically, I was interested in finding out what was involved and how much it would cost.
Now that I think about it, staying with the cloth is better, unless the leather is heated (not avail on 87-91). I guess I should sit tight and save for the next one.
BUT..if the right SSE came up with leather seats...I just might go for it!!
