Transmission Problems. Please help. *FIXED!*
I was cruising at 65-70 and coming up on someone going a bit slower. So then here comes a string of traffic in the fastlane, so I have to get movin pretty fast if I want a spot in there. So I give it about 1/2 throttle, just to drop into third gear, but the car instead of speeding up...slows DOWN. I was like OH YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME. So I press the pedal harder...to about 3/4-WOT and nothing happens, the RPMS just go up like im in neutral. And then ALL OF A SUDDEN it CATCHES in second and JOLTS the car forward. So I'm like swearing up a storm here... seriously ready to just end it all right there. So I get off the freeway, pull over and open the hood and check out WHAT THE HECK is goin on. So I check the trans, fluid is not exactly BRIGHT red but its not brown and doesn't smell burnt so I get back in the car and put it in gear and do about a 2/3 accel just to feel if its jelly... and thank god I still have firm first. So I get back on the freeway and it runs all the way from first to OD with no hesitation. So I get back up to 70 and try that single and then double downshift again. It did it, down to third, and then into second, but not firmly, it doesn't feel like its pulling that hard anymore. Usually when I do a full WOT going 70 it will drop FIRMLY into second and speed climbs pretty fast, now it just feels kinda like it DROPS into second and sluggishly pulls the car a little faster. But oddly enough does a WOT 0-80 from first to third FIRMLY.
Please someone tell me what might be wrong. The TCC is still locking just fine. And if its still doing firm shifts from stop and street start then the bands could not be completely worn out...

Sounds like you are low on fluid. It hasn't happened to me, but the corsy was like that. When you checked the fluid, were you checking just fluid condition or fluid level?

Kickdown cable adjust, check the fluid for level and color after driving.
Modulator will only affect the 'feel' of the shift, it can't delay it. The modulator modifies trans line pressure.

Yeah, ok, last night I drove for 50 miles and checked the fluid right after getting out of the car....the fluid was aerated... was not exactly pink, but had a darker tinge, but did not smell burnt at all.
How do you adjust the TV cable? Or will that be in my FSM? I will go take a look.
I am thinking it would be a good idea to drain the fluid and change the filter, so thats what I am going to do soon.
OSG recommended Lucas trans fix after i drain the fluid, so I will try that as well to see if i can prolong this trans as much as possible by chance there is anything wrong.
Any more opinions?!? I appreciate anything I can get.

Check the transmission fluid level. The engine should be operating properly. Check that the cable is connected at both ends.
Depress the adjustment tab on the upper end of the TV cable. While holding the tab down, move the slider through the fitting (away from the lever assembly) until it stops against the fitting.
Release the tab.
Rotate the cable actuating lever to the full throttle stop position. When doing this, the cable slider should rachet out of the cable fitting toward the cable actuating lever.
Release the cable actuating assembly.
DO NOT adjust the cable using the throttle pedal.
Check the cable for sticking and binding, at both cold and warm operating temperatures. Road test the vehicle, and do a passing gear WOT to see if it'* ok.

Well I took a drive tonight up to Advance and the trans showed no signs of acting up. During my whole trip tonight (30 miles) it only showed signs of slippage ONCE and that was accelerating from a stop pretty gently.
Other than that, it is acting normally for a downshift other than a little bit of softness in second gear... so I decided not to drain the fluid right away, because of some money issues, but will do it as soon as I come into some more money.
We'll see how it all goes, but for the time being, I don't think I'll be doing any WOT runs for a little while.

If the fluid was full of bubbles, you either had too much fluid or too little...
When the fluid was warm and you shifted into every gear and then park was the fluid in the center of the crosshatched area?
