Default ECM replacement...

Just out of curiosity.. will an 88 SSE ECM work in my 90 SSE? I'm assuming that the ECM'* should be the same, no?

According to ACDelco.com PCM #88999198 cross-references between 88 SSE and 90 SSE, VIN C. But you WILL HAVE TO swap in your eprom chip.

Wasn't it still possible to get a LG3 in an early '88 Bonne? Or did that only happen in early '88 LE and SE models?

Well, got the ECM, swapped the EPROM, and I get a code 26 (quad driver).. and my car doesn't want to shift down into 1st now, even when going to WOT at about 30km/h... so I think I'll just pop my old ECM back in and deal with it...

I didn't have a code 26 on my car anymore with my old ECM, and the car didn't run worth a stink with the new ECM in...

Because I'm running out of ideas on why my car is having so many problems... The car has started to flood for some reason, my power door locks and seats don't work for some reason now, and my rad fans seem to be working right now.. but may not work next time I start the car... like I said, I'm running out of ideas on what to do with the ol girl....
