Hmm! On mine -89 SSE it'* the inflator compressor
They use the same compresor. There is a valve that directs air to the rear struts or the outlet in the trunk.
YMF!! My compressor is disconnected !!!! :? (was disconnected by the former owner)

Ahhh...I see how its done Merlin. Where did you move those relays to and do you know the sizes on those pipes and couplers? Does anyone think a CAI will work if it'* done like Merlins, except with the filter to the right of the compressor?

As for that inflator thing in my trunk, it was disconnected. I asked my Grandpa (he was previous owner) and he said because the pump was running on after he shut the car off and it would kill the battery. Does this mean my compressor is doing nothing?

Yes, this is correct. You could probably pull your compressor and not have a negative side effect [if it is already disconnected].

Alright. Although, it isn't disconnected under the hood. Just where the inflator thing is at the back, the face plate with the on off switch is pulled off and the wires are cut.

Oh... well if you have air ride, then you need that compressor. I thought you meant you disconnected the air ride, and had gas shocks or something. I retract that, you do need that compressor; but only if you have air ride.

Thats what I figured. Oh well. When It gets nice out I'm going to find a way around it.

man...I can't wait till summer. Now that I am relatively more educated on the subject then I was last summer, theres so much I want to get out there and do. I'm sure you feel the same way OSG with your top end rebuild and all.

Hell yeah, my car is going to be just about 100% modded before I even turn that key. The only thing I am going to wait on, is the high flow cat and 80 series.. I want to know if the mods I am doing increase any noise themselves, or make the exhaust louder. And yes, I most certainly have learned a LOT since I got this car 8 months ago. When I first got her, I thought she had a distributer and full chassis [took me 5 months to figure out she didn't have a full chassis ]. It seems a lot of people are modding up their '87-'91 lately, and it just makes me jealous and excited for mine to have some of those mods.

I just went out to my car, and that pic is spot on for me too. It seems not having that stuff in there for such a long time, skewed my judgement on what is where and such. It should fit around it, though. Ultimately the compressor is mounted in the same place for the 92+ so it is very possible it will work problem free. Just keep us updated .
