Does it move at all?
If not, does it "try" to move?

The power window motors used by GM in the early 90's seem to have mostly worn out by now. Typical is a window that moves about an inch and stops. After a while it will move another inch.

Has any1 tried aftermarket motors? Do they work well?

padgett 07-07-2004 04:38 PM

I just get them from AutoZone: no failures yet. Wonder if maybe the aftermarket ones do not have the circuit breakers inside.

motors

replaced my motor with A Delco 4 yrs ago now its doing the same thing.
I would definitley go with an aftermarket Advance Auto (lifetime) motor.
These Delco motors don't last. If I didn't get them cheap on Ebay I wouldn't use them.
Its not worth all the work.

What's the ballpark on these aftermarket motors?

Also, any brand/type/model info would be good too :D

Duuno about the Great White North but in Florida, just about every parts house carries them for around U$45. Are also often on e-Bay. Number of brands but most list Siemans for new motors.

Both fronts in my 90 use the same motor but rears are different/more expensive.
