Oh boy. It'* been raining/slushing out for awhile and I was driving down the street when I got a nice portion of water dumped on my head. Seemed to have seeped through the headliner. The other day when I got a carwash a passenger in the back seat got wet as water started dripping from the headliner above them.

I have no idea even where to begin to tackle this problem. My headliner only sags a bit in the back..it is fine everywhere else. And the car has never done this before...

probably a leak in the top of the windshield or the top of the rear window, otherwise theres a hole in yer roof, u got sunroof? if not, you do now

When I had my 89 sse it always leaked above driver visor coming from winshield,sealed it up with black caulking at windshield trim . Not too pretty but worked.Otherwise keep a towel in the car cause it wont stop.It only happened when it rained alot like 2 -3 days in a row ,it didnt do it on daily rains.

upon lookin at your pics of ur car captainmiller, i noticed you DO have a sunroof lol, its probably one of the drain tubes for it clogged up causing water to overflow into the headliner.

on a side note, my old 90se had a VERY small leak from the top of the windshield which caused little drops to show up on the dash and on the window. i just ignored it cuz it was like 3 or 4 drops total during the whole storm so it was nothing big.

I had a leaks in both of the rear MR drain lines. GM uses these crappy clips to hold the drain hoses to the metal portion of the drain. Not to mention the hoses were totally clogged. I replaced my Headliner almost two years ago, flushed out all four lines, and re-attached the drain lines with hose clamps and sealed them with silicone. No leak problem since, the only fun thing is....you have to remove the headliner :(

How do you remove the headliner?

To remove the headliner:
1 remove all the upper trim pieces, and the small two by the rear courtesy light
2 remove the rear quarter courtesy lights, the visors, front courtesy light, sunroof trim
3 there are 3 pieces of velcro that hold the liner up over the rear windsheild, gently remove that.
4 lower the two front seats to full recline position, and remove the headliner.
5 you have to bend it slightly, but it comes out the passenger door.
SImilar steps to re-install after being recovered. the hardest part is bending it to remove it, without brealinf the insulating material

but I'll have to re-do it this summer- the glue I used is not strong enough in some places. Looks amazing though.
