90-91 U1A radio
Wife really wants a CD and U1A is the only one that works with the steering wheel controls. Want one working or not (can get repaired if I have the unit).
Sent an e-mail about one but never got a reply.
If someone has one of these please let me know the price.

Go for a 92-95 HU. Easier to find, plus they are going to be cheaper, plug 'n play I think. Or you can go the route I think is best, and that is the aftermarket HU. *'all up to you though [or your wife ]. Either way eBay is a great place.

Someone else here installed a player like that and had problems with the steering wheel controls being one off.

That pic has the same connectors as my '89s. If that is one of a newer bonne, that will fit right up. Looks too clean to be one of my gen.

Now I am thoroughly confused. The link seemed to show putting a 94 up radio into a 92-93 Bonne. I have a '90 and the steering wheel controls are quite different from the one with the airbag - they include buttons for the climate control temp, mode, and fan as well as the radio. Also the layout for the 90-91 is different from the 88 (not certain about 89).
Plugging the part number 16170212 into Google got several hits including
http://www.aatechnologies.com/pmyrad...c/16170212.asp for $240 which identifies the radio as a 94 Grand Am but no mention of steering wheel controls. They also have the stock 90 Cassette radio which they say is for 90-92 with steering wheel controls
http://www.aatechnologies.com/pmyrad...c/16123342.asp for $135. Such a deal.
I manipulated the image of the photo from e-Bay and the lower plug has five pins a space, then one more pin in it, a lot more than the connector.

I have put in a '93 CD player in my '89. It works with almost all the steering wheel controls. (i.e. It doesn't want to change tracks from the steering wheel...) If anyone is interested in how to do this, pm me and I'll try to help out!
