Default Where can you get heat to blow? Manual controls only.

Just a quick question for you guys with any year 87-91, but preferably 87 because that'* where the problem is. On my car, with a/c without rear def is it matters, i can only get heat out of the floor (heat setting) of the windshield (defrost setting). Now my main question is who gets heat from where. I'm just looking for input. Thanks!

Without the Mode button, you are ar the mercy of the ECC. That'* why I replaced the ECC head and HVAC programmer in my 93 with ones from a 97.

Heated air will come out from the floor vents before interior temp is near selected temp. It then blends defrost and floor while opening the air mix door somewhat. When the interior temp is near the selected temp, the airflow is directed to the dash vents and the air mix door is opened a little more. By the time the air comes out the dash vents, it is "cool" but in reality it is pretty much the temp setting on the ECC cntrol head.

There'* actually a lt more going on within the climate control system than the above description but you get the idea.

Sorry guys ur way off. I have the MANUAL CONTROLS. Manual temp, manual air selector. That'* why i think it'* odd that i can't tell it where to blow heat. So if you have auto controls, this does not apply to you. Sorry about that.

He isn't getting heat out of all the vents, and he wants to know why, or if it'* normal that he doesn't. I'm pretty sure it isn't, because a know a few members brag about putting it on full heat blowing right in their face.

Thanks you justin, that'* exactly what i mean. Even with the temp slider at max hot, i get cool air out of the vents when the air flow selector is placed in anything other than floor or defrost. That'* why i needed to know if there was something wrong or if they designed it like this.
