Is it really that difficult to send a US made part back to the US ?

what kind of part are you looking for?

How big is this infamous part? Because shipping to Canada isn't too hard. I have family there, and have shipped stuff there many times, just costs twice as much.

Totenhamm is not that close, and shipping takes so much longer due to border requirements.
