Optional Illuminated Entry

Hi, my codes tell me i have illluminated entry, but it doesn't seem to work on either of my cars. how would i go about finding out what is wrong? when i open the doors the lights to come on, but if u push the button on the exterior of the door, the interior lights, and the lights on the keyhole are suppose to come on for 20 sec or until u start your car.

The bulb that is used for the keyhole is probably burnt out, or its an LED, either way, mine is dead too. I remember when the car was new, I thought that was the coolest.

Have you installed a remote keyless entry aftermarket or is it standard? Mine illuminated entry stopped working once they installed the remote starter/keyless.

Not much a help, but it may be a start

i was close enough. no the keyless entry was factory. the bulbs aren't burned out, because all the lights in the car are supposed to come on, and the little lights in the key hole do come on when u open the door.

I have the same thing happening to mine. I pulled the door panel off and the bubl was burned out--and yes-my key hole did light up when my door was open.
Gotta be the bulb--if I remember right-the bulb sits in this cylinder looking thing that's plugged into a fiber optic setup. The bulb looks like it has a magnifying look to it on one end. didn't get the part # for it tho, and I've never seen this kind of bulb before.
