Clear Coat Problem
Hey...I have a question for older Bonneville owners...(ie 87-91 body style)
My clear coat on the roof is started to flake off and peel away. What is the best temporary solution to protect the paint and stop furthur clear coat wear until the weather improves and a full re-paint/clear coat can be done?
Any ideas on products on the market?
What have you folks done to protect the paint?
Thanks

Bakin in the sun or freezin in the snow
The combination of Florida sun and the salty air must have some kinda impact on older vehicles. However, when I go on vacation down to Florida, all of the cars look so beautiful. It seems to me that the sun and salty air is much better then what we deal with here: the cold, salted and sandy roads (from November to March anyway).
I tend to think its GM paint.....don't want to knock GM to much, they build Bonnevilles and my uncle works for them...
The clear coat had started to bubble up over the last few months, but I decided to take the car into a coin-op wash....ya, big mistake, the air was about -15 degrees celsius. Next thing I know a whole chuck of clear coat came off.....wasn't happy at all
Off to Canadian Tire to find a temporary solution until next springs paint job.
