Default Tools Required....

Hello all,

I'm heading out to the scrap yard on Saturday to take some parts off a 91 SSE, grey inside and out.
I'm going to take as much as possible, because it'* free.

The major things I'm interested in are the rear seatbelt assemblys, the lock/latch assembys in the doors, the power window motors and probably the cluster as well.
I might also take the entire front dash out, and center console.

So... my question.... what tools... screw driver sizes, bits, etc etc, am I going to need? :?:
Keep in mind, my primary goals are the rear seat belts, stuff inside the doors, and dashboard. I don't have all my tools in a toolbox, so I'm just going to bring what I think I'm going to need.

Also, I'm not exactly sure on how-to remove the rear seats & dash, but my friend and I should be able to figure it out. Unless anyone has some hints/pointers.

The car has already been stripped of everything under the hood... engine/tranny.
And if anyone has any other suggestions on what I should take off her, let me know.

Also, if anyone needs any parts let me know as well.... provided I don't also require them.

For seat belts you'll need a Torx T55 for the retaining bolts.
For the Cluster, a 7mm socket
Other good combos (Deep/Shallow & Wrench) would be:
10mm
13mm
15mm
A trim panel remover, vice gripps, needle nose plyers, multi-screwdriver, etc are also good to have.
As for seat removel, most rear seats are just push in at the bottom (toward rear of car) & pull up.

I dont know if they still do, I havnt taken a dash appart in awhile, but if you can get yourself a hold of a 8.5mm socket (or could be 6.5, 7.5, 9.5) total forgot, its a high 1 digit .5

YES WILL!
I think it'* a ploy for the manufacturers to get you to buy more tools!
Just like the "Torx" when it came out in the late 70'* for all your trim screws.
Unfortunately it'* a way of life up here.

Thanks for the info on what tools to bring.

The find was pretty much a bust, someone had already beaten me to the car. The last time I saw the car was 2 months ago, this was the first chance I had to get out to the site.

No headlights, no taillights, the inside of the car was completely removed, no dash, no seats, nothing. The seat belts were still there, but they were rusted on so bad, it was impossible to get them off.The lock latches and window motors were alll gone.

I did find the cluster under misc parts, buried under the car, it'* in rough shape, the clear plastic is cracked, but the cluster it'* self looks ok, dirty but ok. Only 160,000kms on the car. I also did find the wood trim for the dash, in good condition.

BB23 you are more then welcome to the cluster if you want. No charge man. But I still need those parts from you. We'll exchange next time your down in this area.

bummer they robbed everything out of it... but on the other hand..my seat belt latches came out easy...ive basically written the car off, meaning no chance in hell im putting that one back together.. i dont know if the latches in the back will work but its worth a try as i frigged around and got the door open. Im gonna box everything up and send it up your way. i dont know if i have your address in my email but send it anyways..just incase. tguitar@rogers.com . if there is anything else u need let me know and its yours. (was it just the seat belts or do u also want the clips that they go into ..when u fasten your belt? .

my insurance down payment was a little more than i thought so itll be another 3 weeks before i can get the plates..inspection..insurance on all in one day. i will let u know however.. I am anxious now to get this car rolling. i took her around the block and she still growls for me.
