Żeah- if the frame and body is good- fix it. But if there is a whole host of other issues- do what I did- I parted out myself my 89 SSE, kept the parts and bought a 91 SSE- with new tranny and re-bulit engine!

Saw your pics on your site. Looks like a gorgeous SSE. I say you fix it!
My GF'* dad put a used trans in her 90 SSE when it went out... at 314,000 miles. He'* also a mechanic and the entire job cost him $150, so if someone'* trying to take you for $2000... I can understand why you'd consider parting her out.
Anything else wrong with the car? If not, I'd definately fix her up.

parts needed
I would be interested in the drivers side window motor if it is any good and reasonable priced, I have a 91 bonneville le with 166,000 miles on it and going strong after $768
worth of recent repairs, but it is still a beautiful dependable car. I woulnt part with it for anything.
